Maria focuses on creating from a place that moves others to connect with a good God and find hope and light in their own story.
After 15 years of singing, writing songs and leading others to encounter God through music, Maria felt a nudge to expand her creative expression through painting. “I found abstract painting to be a natural extension of Spirit-led response for me and a connection point to God that used a new part of my creative voice. Instead of words and melodies, God was giving me colors and brushes.” Maria says.

Maria roate is a spirit-led abstract artist, writer, and worship leader creating art through worship.
I pray over the canvas, turn on worship music and let the Spirit lead. Layers, prayer, dancing, singing, kneeling, more layers, mess, water, wiping away, revealing what's beneath, adding more, praying, praising, listening…then finally stepping back and resting.
My process is worship.
